My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 69 Last Level

With Just two minutes of added time left, Spree City players passed the ball around trying to find the space and chance to do something, but before they could do anything, the referee blew his whistle thrice to signal the end of the match.

"There you have it, ninety minutes of competitive football plus a few more minutes completed," Jim said. "It started well for Unique FC with Mateo Smith putting them ahead with a fumble in front of the goalpost and then doubling the lead with a setup from Dave Richards.

"Torres managed to pull one back for the hosts before halftime and then coming into the second half Kelano scored the equalizer with a confusing ball. It didn\'t take long for them to take the lead after that equalizer as Roland Ryle mistakenly put the ball into his goalpost while trying to clear a low cross from Torres.

"It could have ended with Unique FC on the losing side once again but Mateo took on the whole defense with just six minutes of added time left before the match came to an end."

"That means they have finally broken Spree City\'s winning streak on them and Mateo Smith has finally gotten his first hat trick of the season," Steve said.

The match had ended about five minutes ago and the players from both teams were already leaving the pitch but Dave was still standing at his goal post with a bright smile on his face.

It wasn\'t a win but getting a draw against Spree City who have been bullying them for seasons was something to be happy about but that wasn\'t the only reason why he was smiling.

[ Level: 01 ]

\'Shot stopper.\' Dave said subconsciously.

<Yeah>

\'I know what goalkeepers who are tagged shot stoppers do in matches but does the attribute do anything special for me, like the skills does?\'

<You\'ll have to use it to find out>

\'Use it, how?\'

<You\'ll have to activate it first>

\'Okay.\' Dave replied as he tried to activate the attribute the way he activated his skills but it didn\'t seem to be working. \'Why isn\'t it working?\'

<You can\'t activate your attributes outside an official football match so you\'ll have to wait till the next match to use it>

\'Oh, that\'s great.\' Dave said before he started to walk off the pitch. \'

Mateo was the man of the match as expected and he was the one supposed to speak in the post-match interview but he had gone down the tunnel as soon as he picked up his award and now Adolf had to be the one to do the interview.

Dave walked into their locker room to see Mateo and some of his other teammates pulling off their shirts.

"Hey, did they force you to do the interview?" Mateo asked as soon as he spotted Dave.

"No, Adolf is doing it," Dave said walking closer to him and sitting down on the bench beside him.

"Okay, well, he is the captain isn\'t he?"

"Mateo."

The youngster heard someone call his name from the entrance and turned to see the assistant coach standing there.

"Hey, any problem?" He asked.

"Someone\'s here to see you." The assistant coach said. "A reporter."

"I knew they would come for me." He muttered. "I can\'t really run from this one can I?"

"No," The assistant coach said, shaking his head. "But you should put on some clothes first, all of you."

"Why? Is the reporter a female?" Mateo asked.

"I don\'t think he would have come here to tell you first if it was a male," Ferran said.

"Yeah, it\'s a female reporter." The female reporter said.

"Okay," Mateo said, sliding his hands into the jacket that had been sitting on his thighs. "A female reporter is better anyway."

"Okay." The assistant coach said before leaving.

<Are you sure that\'s not Emma?>

\'I don\'t know but there\'s a chance that it\'s her, she\'s still here and she is a female reporter.\'

Mateo had his gaze on the entrance1 waiting for the female reporter and just as she walked in, a shocked expression appeared on his face.

"Emma." He muttered.

She was putting on a black skirt and short-sleeved pink blouse and to top it off she had on black heels, a black cap, and a small pink handbag hanging over her shoulder.

"Hello, Mateo." She said walking closer to him.

"When did you become a reporter?" Mateo asked.

"Yesterday, I got the job, yesterday." She said,

"And you didn\'t tell me?" He said, turning his gaze to Dave.

"I was thinking about the match and it slipped my mind," Dave said.

"So the first footballer you want to interview is your little brother, that\'s so sweet," Mateo said with a smile on his face.

"Ummm.... actually I was given the option to interview you or someone else." She said looking around.

"At least you chose me ahead of the person."

"I chose you because you scored a hat trick and won the man of the match award." She said,

Mateo stared at her for a while before turning his gaze to the side and turning it back to her again.

"Okay, just ask your questions." He said.

"Can I sit down?" She asked turning her gaze to Dave who was sitting beside Mateo.

"Sure," Dave said quickly getting up from the seat and walking to his locker to take out his stuff.

"Hey, can I ask you for something first?" Emma asked after sitting down on the bench.

"What?"

"For the meantime just forget that we\'re siblings and answer my questions like it was just any reporter asking them." She said,

"Okay," Mateo said with a nod.

"Cool."

Dave was taking out his clothes from his locker when his post-match rewards popped up on his system screen.
